Shadows : Dark Pact

So this image started innocently enough; I wanted to showcase the newly re-designed villains from ED to BSSM: Shadows. Here we have Dark Sailor Saturn (IN THAT ORDER PEOPLE), and formerly the "Evil" Senshi, but her new name is now Sailor Cronus (There are, of course, other villains; but I won't be revealing them until a later date)

Then I decided to do something different.

I shaded this entirely in SAI.



I'm not used to actually digitally painting things. I was okay with it for Scorpio's pin-up, but it wasn't soft enough for my tastes. Plus I found a cool tutorial, and I went for it. Sadly, my first attempt I disliked so much I was about ready to return to my Photoshop like an abused wife.

If it weren't for the timely intervention of , that is.

She gave me some tips and tricks about the program, and low and behold! It began to cooperate! I was still not feeling it so much, but once I fired up Photoshop to do some tweaking, I liked it a LOT better

So yes! This entire thing (save their eyes and the background) was done in SAI. I did a bit of adjusting to the colors, added highlights to their hair and added a light skin texture in Photoshop, and added the background. I still need a lot of practice in SAI yet, but I think I got enough of a handle on what I want to do so I can tweak it

But good LORD their hair ___ It turned out BEAUTIFULLY! I don't think I've ever shaded hair so epically before

So yes, enjoy the re-designed Dark Saturn and Cronus! Why yes, their fukus are similar; they're more "team mates" then they were in the past

There are a few things I don't like, though...Cronus' head is too big (and I didn't notice until I was done shading... ), and I don't really like Dark Saturn's feet. I haven't drawn bare feet in forever, but at least they look more like toes and less like paws. Still terrible on the foreshortening

And to the newbies in the audience: Yes, Dark Saturn = Ashi. She was originally Dark Saturn in my old fanfic, Eternal Darkness way back in the day. She was converted for my KH Fanfiction, so there you go
